A kaleidoscope of colour
Set in the heart of the UNESCO-protected Baa Atoll lies Finolhu. Meaning ‘sandbank’ in the local Dhivehi language, the island blends long golden beaches, dense tropical greenery, and seas glittering in every shade of blue. We commissioned the renowned London-based architectural firm Muza Lab to bring our vision to life. Drawing inspiration from the island itself they chose the idea of a kaleidoscope for the design of the villas and restaurants, building an interplay of patterns, geometric shapes and colours that reflected the surrounding natural world. All this is enhanced by a collection of unique designer objects that adorn the living spaces, created by artists and artisans drawn from across the world.

BAA ATOLL
A natural wonder in the Indian Ocean
One of 26 natural atolls in the Indian Ocean, Baa Atoll lies on the edge of the open sea, where the crystal-clear waters drop to great depths. Reefs and so-called “thilas” – small, rounded underwater mountains – provide a natural habitat for around 1,200 different species, and it is not without reason that Baa Atoll has been designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Hanifaru Bay is unique and world-famous, offering guests the chance to swim with manta rays and whale sharks.
