SERVICE AT SEA

Dive with your butler

At Finolhu we have butlers on land and in the water. In collaboration with Dive Butler International, our PADI-certified team consists of diving professionals, so whether you are a beginner or an experienced diver we will be by your side, taking you on exciting discoveries into the world below the waves. On request, you can also charter our luxury boats for private diving trips.

UNDERWATER MAGIC

Perfectly equipped for great diving experiences

The Maldives is one of the best diving destinations in the world. There are around 30 different sites here to discover the magnificence of underwater life, and all of them can be reached quickly by speedboat from Finolhu. The setting is perfect for obtaining a PADI diving license, and for our dives we provide the highest quality equipment including Nitrox, a special air mixture that allows divers to stay underwater longer, experiencing the magic of the sea even more intensely.

PLAY AMONGST THE WAVES

Water sports for
one and all!

Whether above or below the water, motorised or not – at Finolhu, we make the sea an experience. Our lagoon has little swell, making it ideal for starting the day with a SUP, kayak or catamaran, while those looking for an adrenaline rush can try jet skiing, sea bobbing, wakeboarding – or an X-Jet Blade, an E-Foil or a banana boat. Dive in!

BOAT TRIPS

The Maldives is more
than just the sea

We understand that you will be reluctant to leave our island paradise, but our excursions are well worth it. We’ll take you snorkelling to some amazing reefs, or to Hanifaru Bay where you can swim with manta rays and whale sharks between March and November. Alternatively, one of our ocean butlers can take you to explore a local island, or you could opt for a dolphin safari at sunset. The experiences are as endless as the seas that surround us.

OUR EXPERTS RECOMMEND

Ocean adventure

Each and every trip to and in the sea is carried out with special care for nature in the UNESCO-protected Baa Atoll. The professional team at Dive Butler takes beginners and advanced divers on unique diving and snorkeling experiences. Those who have never been underwater with an oxygen tank can get started safely and easily with Discovery Scuba Diving, which includes lagoon training and a guided dive to the coral reef. Only two people participate per instructor. Certified divers can expand their experience and skills with a variety of PADI courses, including speciality courses and certification courses for advanced and rescue divers. Other experienced divers can explore the diverse dive sites around Baa Atoll with experienced guides.

Of course, not everyone wants to dive deep. For guests who prefer to stay on the surface, there are snorkeling excursions by boat, all of which have a special theme such as ‘Reef Hopping’, ‘Turtle and Dolphin Safaris’ and ‘Snorkeling Express’. Naturally there is also the option of taking these tours with private diving guides instead of in a group.

These include ‘Reef Hopping’, ‘Turtle and Dolphin Safaris’ and ‘Snorkelling Express’. And, of course, there is also the option of going on these tours not as part of a group but with private diving guides.

Our Big Game Fishing adventures are unforgettable and exciting. You’ll head out with our fishermen and catch your ‘catch of the day’. In the evening, our head chef will prepare your personal catch into a delicious meal, tailored to your preferences.

And then there are the water sports on offer. Glide underwater like a dolphin on a Seabob, or discover the beauty of Baa Atoll on a guided jet-ski tour or aboard a solar-powered Reef Cruiser. Lots of fun included!

A SAFARI LIKE NO OTHER

To the eagles of the sea in Hanifaru Bay

They are gentle and graceful and are among the most intelligent animals in the oceans. They glide elegantly beneath the waves, beating their fins like an eagle beats its wings. Encountering them is a meditative, perhaps even magical moment. In small groups or exclusively on a luxury yacht, ASMAS takes guests to Hanifaru Bay, where manta rays find ideal conditions in the turquoise waters of Baa Atoll between May and November. Manta rays have a distinct social behaviour, being intelligent and sensitive creatures that love to be stroked. You can see them playing with each other, sometimes leaping out of the water into the air, and approaching divers with an engaging curiosity.
