Our Teens Hut is a bamboo-covered building with state-of-the-art equipment: consoles, a modern bar for mocktail courses, a lounge for film evenings and a music studio on the first floor with instruments, a stage and a karaoke machine. Here, teenagers aged 12 to 17 can play or learn to play the guitar or drums under the guidance of musicians, or let their inner aspiring DJ loose with professional direction. It doesn’t get any cooler than this.

A real eye-catcher: our Teens Hut was designed by Indonesian architecture firm KulörGroup using Balinese bamboo. The open building with sweeping beams and a thatched roof features a sandy ground floor and warm wood on the first floor, inviting you to take your shoes off. The design shows in a relaxed and forward-looking way how well beauty and sustainability can go together in architecture.
It blends seamlessly with the nature of the island and may even be an inspiration for the next generation, as they see that tourism needn’t destroy what it lives on. Bamboo perfectly embodies the philosophy of sustainability and is also symbolic of renewal and growth.
At the same time, our Teens Hut is multifunctional. In addition to the bar, the lounge for film evenings and the music studio on the first floor, there is also an outdoor recreation area.
Mocktail courses and silent dance parties are held regularly at Teens Hut, and the use of headphones and quiet devices ensures that electric instruments won’t disrupt the peace and quiet on the island. This makes our Teens Hut a vibrant hotspot for teenagers and young adults that is unrivalled in the Maldives.
